FAQ
Light Up The Night™
Game Light® transforms your home basketball court into a playable space after dark. Mounted high above the backboard, the system provides broad, even lighting across the key and surrounding play area, eliminating harsh shadows and uneven coverage common with temporary or improvised lighting solutions.
Designed specifically for residential outdoor courts, Game Light® combines high-output LED performance with a compact, weather-resistant construction. The result is a reliable, energy-efficient lighting solution that integrates cleanly with your hoop system and keeps the game going long after sunset.
Bright, Energy-Efficient Lighting
High-output 12,000-lumen LED lighting delivers clear, wide-angle illumination so every part of your court is visible at night without harsh shadows or glare.
Outdoor Durability
Built from weather-resistant components, Game Light® is engineered to withstand rain, heat, cold, and seasonal conditions for reliable year-round use.
Compact, Rock-Solid Design
The single light fixture mounts high above the backboard with minimal weight added to your hoop system, keeping play stable and rigid even under high intensity.
Who Game Light® is For
Game Light® is designed to extend usable playing time on home and residential courts, without the complexity or commitment of permanent floodlighting.
Families and shared residential spaces - Focuses light on the court area, helping reduce unnecessary spill into surrounding spaces.
Home courts without installed lighting - Adds practical illumination without poles, trenching, or fixed electrical infrastructure.
Evening and winter players - Keeps casual games, training sessions, and free shooting going after daylight fades.
Who Game Light® is Not For
While Game Light® dramatically improves visibility, it’s important to understand what it’s not designed to replace.
Full-size competition courts or clubs - It is not a substitute replacement for multi-pole floodlighting systems built for regulation match play.
Large areas requiring uniform lighting - The system prioritises the key playing zone around the hoop, not wide-area coverage.
Users expecting daylight-level brightness - Game Light® enhances playability after dark, but it does not replicate daytime conditions.

Game Light® FAQ
These FAQs cover the most common questions about Game Light®, including compatibility, mounting, and when it makes sense as part of your court setup. The answers below are designed to help you confirm fit and expectations before adding it to your system.
If you’re still deciding whether a lighting system makes sense for your court, the Home Basketball Court Lighting Guide explains the principles behind effective residential lighting in more detail.
It is designed to illuminate the key playing area around the hoop for evening and low-light play. It improves visibility for shooting, rebounding, and casual games when full court lighting isn’t required.
Can it be added after the hoop is installed?
Yes. It must be installed to an existing Mega Slam system. Installation may be easier if planned during the original hoop installation.
Is it a DIY installation?
Yes. The system is fully DIY and is designed to be installed without professional assistance. Clear instructions are provided, and no specialist tools are required beyond standard hand tools.
Is it adjustable once installed?
No. Once installed, the assembly remains fixed in the perfect position above the hoop. It does not pivot, track the ball, or move dynamically during play.
Can it be used for full-court lighting?
No. It's a localized lighting solution, not a replacement for floodlights or professional court lighting systems. It is intended to support casual play, training, and shooting sessions.
Can it be used indoors?
The system is designed primarily for outdoor use. It is not intended for indoor installations unless sufficient clearance, ventilation, and mounting conditions are confirmed.
Can it be used outdoors year-round?
Yes. It is built for outdoor use and suitable for typical weather conditions. As with any outdoor electrical accessory, basic installation and safety guidance should be followed.
Does it affect gameplay or ball rebound?
No. It does not interact with the backboard, rim, or net and has no impact on ball response or play.
