The Side-Yard Court: Serious Practice in a 5.5-Metre Strip

A long, narrow run beside the house most people would write off, tiled in Trinidad Blue with a Wind Grey key and turned into a genuine shooting court.

About this build

The pad is about 5.5 m wide and over 12 m long. Trinidad Blue runs the full length and the key is picked out in Wind Grey. The key is a different tile rather than paint, so the change of colour lands on a clean tile line.

Narrow courts reward honest geometry. The hoop sits at one end with the full free-throw and arc markings in front of it, and the long tail of the court gives a real run-up for lay-up drills — something square courts often lack.

Mesh fencing on both sides keeps the ball in the game. If your only spare ground is a corridor, this build shows it is enough.
