L-shaped room court

Indoor rooms are rarely clean rectangles. There is a stair box, a chimney breast, a boiler cupboard, a return around a corner. This card is that room: 26 by 34 feet with an 8 by 10 foot bite out of the far corner. The point of it is what happens to the quote. The rectangle around this room is 82.1 m². The floor that actually exists is 74.7 m². We tile and bill the second number. Every tile the room boundary passes through is charged as a whole tile, because that is how it is bought — one off the pallet, cut on site — and tiles that fall entirely outside the room are not charged at all. Because Dynamic Pro II is a true 12 inch tile and this room is measured in feet, the layout needs no cutting whatsoever. That is a property of this pairing rather than a general promise: a room whose walls do not land on the tile pitch will have a cut perimeter, and every one of those cut tiles is charged in full. The court sits in the clear rectangle at the front — 24 by 22 feet, with the regulation key and the free-throw line 4.60 m from the backboard. No three-point line; there is no room for the real arc. The leg at the back is tiled but unmarked, which is where the storage, the door swing and everyone who is not playing goes.
