Forest Green and Cherry Red, Tucked Into the Hedge Line
A Forest Green half-court with a Cherry Red key, dropped into the strip between a mature hedge and the lawn.
Про цей проєкт
The site is a strip between a mature hedge and the lawn, the kind of ground that gets mown and never used. The pad squares it off. Nothing established had to come out to make room: the hedging and the conifers behind it are why the owners wanted the court in that spot.
Forest Green across the field with a Cherry Red key runs against the usual instinct, which is to put the strong colour where it shows. From the house, and from the road beyond the hedge, the green is most of what you see. The red only opens up once you are standing on the court, looking at the hoop.
White markings on both colours, black ramp edging around the perimeter, and an in-ground hoop with a glass backboard behind the baseline. The leaves in this photograph are worth noticing: the tile is an open grid, so rain and leaf litter drop through it instead of sitting on the surface.
