The Grey Court by the Garage: About as Small as a Half-Court Gets

It fits in the gap beside the garage and still carries the whole arc. This is the court people start with when the garden is tight on width.

Om dette prosjektet

At 5.5 × 9.1 m it takes about the space of two parked cars. The width is the tight part, not the length: there is still room for the key, the free-throw line and a three-point arc that closes on both sidelines instead of running off the edge. That is what makes it feel like basketball rather than throwing a ball at a wall.

Two greys and a white line. Wind Grey over the pad, Graphite Grey in the key. The key is not painted on: it is a different tile, so the colour goes all the way through. Next to the black timber garage the whole thing stays quiet, and because it is tile, the lawn around it can be a swamp in February while the court is still fine to play on.

Builds like this are often phase one. The pad can be extended tile by tile later, and several of our full courts started this size.
