Five-a-side does not have one official size the way futsal does. It is a format, not a codified sport, so pitches vary between leagues and centres. That is useful: the pitch can fit the space, and the space does not have to fit the pitch.
The three sizes above cover the spread. The standard pitch is the size most commercial centres use, so it is the safest choice if you want a pitch that feels familiar. The compact pitch is the one that fits real sites, and the large pitch gives a more open game with room for six a side.
Settle early whether you want five-a-side or futsal, because it changes the pitch. Futsal is a FIFA sport with fixed markings, a low-bounce ball and no walls. Five-a-side usually has a normal ball and rules that vary by venue. If children play futsal at a club, build the futsal pitch and mark it properly.

Is five-a-side the same as futsal?
No. Futsal is the FIFA game, with fixed markings and a pitch between 25 × 16 m and 42 × 25 m. Five-a-side is the informal game and flexes to the space. If you want FIFA markings, look at the futsal range.
Can the pitch go outdoors?
Yes. The Dynamic Pro II tile is free-draining and slip-resistant, so the pitch can be laid outdoors on a firm, flat base and played on soon after rain.
