The Mini Tennis courts that fit a garden, and the full ITF court for sites that can take it.

Prices are for the court. The hoop in each picture is there for scale, and you can add it on the court page.

Tennis courts: the run-off decides what fits

The size of a tennis court is not the number that decides whether you can have one. The number that decides it is the court plus its run-off, about 36.6 × 18.3 m of flat, clear ground, and that is why most gardens cannot take a full court.

You cannot trim that run-off the way you can for a smaller-court sport, because a baseline rally is played several metres behind the baseline. Cut it and you are playing a different game. So this range starts from what fits, and what fits is the set of courts the LTA teaches the game on.

Red is the first court, about the size of a badminton court, with a slower ball that gives a child time to hit it. Orange is the step up. Green runs the full length at singles width. Each is a real court with real lines, and each has its own card above with the exact size.

Where there is room, the full ITF court is laid with the run-off the ITF recommends, and the 4-in-1 court marks four Red courts inside one full court, so a club runs juniors and adults on one pad. Every court is laid on the Dynamic Pro II tile, which drains straight through, and our tennis court dimensions guide sets out every line.

أسئلة شائعة

What size is a tennis court?

A full court is 23.77 m long and 10.97 m wide for doubles, or 8.23 m wide for singles, with the net at 0.914 m in the middle. That is the marked court only. Our full ITF court adds the run-off the ITF recommends, 3.66 m at the sides and 6.40 m behind each baseline, which makes the whole surface 18.29 × 36.58 m. Our tennis court dimensions guide sets out every line.

What are Red, Orange and Green courts?

They are the three junior stages of LTA Mini Tennis, each with a smaller court and a slower ball. The Red court is the first, about the size of a badminton court. The Orange court is the step up. The Green court runs the full length at singles width. Each card gives the exact size and the ages it suits.

Can one court serve juniors and adults?

Yes. A full court can carry mini-courts marked inside it in a second line colour, so the same surface runs a junior session in the afternoon and adult play in the evening. Our 4-in-1 evolving court is one full court with four Red courts built in, which lets four groups of young players train at once.

Does a modular tennis court need a special base?

It needs a firm, flat base: concrete or tarmac in sound condition. The tiles float on top and drain straight through, so the court is playable soon after rain, and a tired court on a sound base can usually be tiled over instead of dug out. Our guide to resurfacing an existing court covers how to judge the base you have.

Which tile do you use for tennis?

Every tennis court in this range is laid on the Dynamic Pro II tile, which is free-draining and slip-resistant and works indoors or out. You can change the court and line colours in the 3D designer before you order.
